The Shumen Peak ( Bulgarian връх Шумен wrach Shumen ) is a 770 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the Friesland Ridge of the Tangra Mountains, it rises 1.5 km south of St. Methodius Peak , 0.64 km south of Chepelare Peak and 1.6 km southeast of Tervel Peak . The Tarnowo Piedmont Glacier is to the west of it, the Prespa Glacier to the southeast.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named the mountain in 2002 after the city of Shumen in eastern Bulgaria .
