The Sibthorp fritillary ( Fritillaria sibthorpiana ) is a species of plant from the genus Fritillaria .

features

The Sibthorp fritillary is a perennial herbaceous bulb plant that reaches heights of 20 to 30 centimeters. The 2 to 3 leaves are ovate-lanceolate. The bottom one measures 9 to 17 × 1.4 to 5 centimeters. The flowers are solitary. The tepals are 18 to 22 millimeters long. The inner tepals are 9 millimeters wide, the outer 7 millimeters.

The flowering time is in April, rarely it lasts until May.

Occurrence

The Sibthorp fritillary occurs in Greece in Symi and in southwest Turkey. It grows in Pinus brutia forests on limestone at altitudes of 400 to 1450 meters.
