The sickle angelfish ( Pomacanthus maculosus ) or Arabian angelfish is a species of the genus Pomacanthus from the family of angelfish (Pomacanthidae). They become 50 centimeters long.
distribution
It lives around the Arabian Peninsula in the Red Sea in the Persian Gulf , in the northeast Indian Ocean to East Africa. Sickle angelfish mostly live alone. They prefer regions rich in corals.
nutrition
Sickle angelfish feed on sponges , sea squirts , bryozoa and algae.
Sickle angelfish and man
Sickle angelfish behave very confidently towards divers and approach within a meter without hesitation. In the Gulf States they are caught as food fish.
