Siegfried Schuch (born June 16, 1956 in Mainz ) is a German conservationist .

In 1988 the business educator became honorary state chairman of the German Federation for Bird Protection in Rhineland-Palatinate. He kept the honorary state chairmanship when the Vogelschutzbund renamed itself in 1990 to Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU) and in 1998 became full-time chairman of NABU Rhineland-Palatinate. He held the state chairmanship of the nature conservation organization for a total of 30 years until 2018, when he no longer ran for this position for reasons of age.

As a member of the State Nature Conservation Advisory Board and State Hunting Advisory Board, Schuch has been advising the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate on nature conservation matters since 1990 . He is a member of the board of the Nature and Environment Foundation Rhineland-Palatinate .

Schuch designed the major nature conservation projects for bat quarters in the Mayener pit field and the conversion of the Schmittenhöhe military training area in Koblenz-Horchheim into a semi-open pasture landscape . He also made significant contributions to the establishment of the Little Owl species protection program . In 2006 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate for his conservation work.

Siegfried Schuch is married, has two daughters and lives in the Rhine-Hessian community of Nierstein .
