Siegmund Scheupl

Siegmund Scheupl (born May 25, 1893 , † July 28, 1970 ) was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism and a local politician ( CSU ).

Life

The lawyer studied in Erlangen and did his doctorate there on the subject of "The exclusive powers of the author with regard to the processing of his work". Scheupl worked as a councilor in Altötting during the Second World War . On April 28, he took part in the Bavarian freedom campaign and, after the uprising was put down, only barely escaped execution , while the mill owner Josef Bruckmayer, the administrative inspector Martin Seidel, the warehouse manager Hans Riehl (father of Herbert Riehl-Heyse ), the administrator the Hl. Kapelle Msgr. Adalbert Vogl and the bookseller Adam Wehnert were executed. His wife Wilma Scheupl only barely survived as a hostage. Scheupl was most recently senior civil and 1952-1964 District Administrator of the district Altötting .
