Sigguup Nunaa (translated Land of the Snout ; Danish Svartenhuk Halvø ), also Nunavik Peninsula , is a large uninhabited peninsula in the Avannaata Kommunia in Greenland . It is divided into two cultural and geographical regions: the Uummannaq Fjord region in the southeast and the Upernavik archipelago in the north.
Rocks and sediments on the peninsula date from the Cretaceous and Paleocene Periods .
