Sigmund Erk
Sigmund Erk (born July 11, 1895 in Munich , † December 18, 1939 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a technical physicist .
His parents were Fritz Erk and his wife Luise Engelhardt . Soon after the First World War he finished his studies in the laboratory for technical physics at the Technical University of Munich .
On April 1, 1922, he joined the Physikalisch-Technische Reichsanstalt as a graduate engineer and scientific assistant . For eight years he headed the laboratory for viscometry and petroleum apparatus. As a captain and adjutant in a communications department, he contracted a stomach disease on the Western Front during World War II , from which he died in a reserve hospital in Frankfurt.
