Sigrid Pilz (born May 2, 1958 ) is the patient advocate for the City of Vienna and a former Austrian politician of the party The Greens - The Green Alternative .

Life

Pilz completed his studies in educational sciences and psychology in Innsbruck and obtained his doctorate. phil. For a long time she worked as an employee and head of a youth center for disadvantaged young people. Since 1985 she has been a civil servant in the Ministry of Social Affairs , head of the department for international family and youth policy and lecturer at the University of Innsbruck .

From 2001 to 2012 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council , where she last held the position of health spokesperson for Die Grünen Wien . In this role she uncovered grievances in the Lainz nursing home as well as in training for regular doctors. In the course of the so-called Lainz care scandal , the responsible city councilor Elisabeth Pittermann had to resign.

On July 1, 2012, she took up the position of patient advocate for the federal state of Vienna . Alexander Van der Bellen took her place on the local council .

She has been a member of the ORF Board of Trustees since 2020, succeeding Susanne Fengler .

There is no relationship with Peter Pilz .
