Silke Brand

Silke Brand (born September 20, 1971 in Bremen ) is a German psychologist and personality and health coach.

Life

After starting his studies in applied linguistics in Mainz and subsequent journalistic internships, Brand studied psychology at Bielefeld University . After completing her diploma, she worked at the Christoph Dornier Clinic in Münster with a focus on behavioral intensive treatment, including for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders .

Supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Christoph Dornier Foundation for Clinical Psychology , she wrote her doctoral thesis on the evaluation of disorder-specific training for couples in agoraphobia .

After completing his training as a psychological behavior therapist , Brand worked at the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Bonn , RWTH Aachen University and the University of Düsseldorf .

Brand completed additional training in the areas of borderline disorders , communication training and neuro-linguistic programming as well as coaching with the Reiss Profile. Since 2000 she has been working as a psychological psychotherapist and coach in Cologne .

Media activity

Since 2003, Brand has appeared as a psychological expert on the topics of burnout , depression , anxiety , partnership and mental health for ZDF , WDR 2, WDR 5 and 1 Live, as well as Die Welt , Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger , Prisma and Funk Uhr . In 2007 and 2008 she had a joint program with Thomas Kurscheid on WDR television, which was broadcast in various third programs: The Great Health Check . The two visited families to give them and the TV viewers tips on health and prevention. Since 2009, Brand has also appeared several times in the ARD morning magazine on various psychological topics.
