Silvano Moeckli

Silvano Moeckli (* 1950 ) is a Swiss political scientist and international democracy and election expert. He is emeritus honorary professor of the University of St. Gallen for political science, political with special focus on comparative systems of social research.

Career

After a commercial apprenticeship and the Matura on the second educational path, he took up a university course. He was a member of the Presidium of the Constitutional Commission of the Canton of St. Gallen, was a member of the Banking Commission of the St. Galler Kantonalbank , was a member of the International Parliamentary Conference on Lake Constance and the Cantonal Council of St. Gallen, which he presided over in 2005/06.

He is familiar with political science theory as well as with political and economic practice. Missions as an election expert for the UN , the OSCE and the Council of Europe took him to Namibia, South Africa, Asia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belarus, Albania, Macedonia, Ukraine and Kosovo.
