From March 5, 2018 to May 3, 2018, the Silver Spirit at Fincantieri in Palermo was extended by 15 meters.
Furnishing
The ship has a passenger capacity of 540 guests with a crew of 378. The guests are accommodated exclusively in luxurious suites, 95 percent of which have a balcony. The ship has twelve decks, eight of which are passenger decks.
Technical specifications
When it was put into service, the ship was measured at 36,009 GT and was 195.8 meters long. It is 26.5 meters wide (29.5 meters above the bridge cam ). The maximum draft is 6.4 meters, the height above the waterline is 48.4 meters.
The ship has a diesel-electric drive . Two fixed five- blade propellers (diameter 4.6 meters each) are each driven by an electric motor of the type VEM-DTMSZ ( VEM Group ) with an output of 8,500 kW. The drive power is 17,000 kW, which corresponds to around 23,200 PS. The electrical energy for the propulsion and operation of the ship is provided by four Wärtsilä type 9L38 diesel engines, each with nine cylinders in series and an output of 6,520 kW each, i.e. a total of 26,080 kW. Two bow thruster of Rolls-Royce with 1,000 kW (1,360 hp) support the maneuvering in the presence and laying-down or turning maneuvers. The ship reaches a maximum speed of 21.5 knots . Two Mitsubishi Finstabilisatoren serve as extendable ship stabilizers at high seas .
