Silver Town is a music album by British folk-punk band The Men They Couldn't Hang , released in 1989. Along with Waiting for Bonaparte, it is one of their most famous albums.

history

As singles released A Place in the Sun , A Map of Morocco and Rain, Steam and Speed , which was ranked 88th with the only single in the UK's top 100th

Nick Muir, who z. B. had already worked with Take That and Fire Next Time, joined the band as a new member and was also featured on the follow-up album The Domino Club . He stayed with the Men They Couldn't Hang until it was broken up in 1991. Muir later became successful with the duo Bedrock and as a producer of electronic music.

Silver Town ranked 39th as the only The Men They Couldn't Hang album in the British Top 40 and thus became their most successful album. It is also the first of two albums by the band to be released on the Silvertone label, the same label that released the Stone Roses' debut album .

Like its two predecessors, How Green Is the Valley and Waiting for Bonaparte , the album was produced by Mick Glossop.
