The Domino Club is a music album by British folk punk band The Men They Couldn't Hang , released in 1990.
history
Great Expectations , Kingdom of the Blind and The Lion and the Unicorn were released as singles, but none of them could be placed in the British Top 100. The album reached number 53 on the UK album charts.
The Domino Club was the last regular studio album before the band split up, and remained so until their reunion in 1996 and Never Born To Follow released that year . It was also the second album on the Silvertone label and the second album with Nick Muir on piano, keyboards and accordion.
The album was produced by Pat Collier, former vibrators bassist , and the cover was designed by Sean Phillips, who was then working on the 2000 AD comic series . Philip "Swill" Odgers was a huge fan of the series and met with the series editor several times to get one of the artists to do a cover art. It was finally agreed on Sean Phillips, who already worked for Batman , WildC.ATs and Hellblazer .
The Men They Couldn't Hang opened up for David Bowie at the Milton Keynes Bowl concerts during his Sound and Vision tour, as Bowie's son was a huge fan of the band.
