Silvio Bankert (born July 13, 1985 in Luckenwalde ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career

In his youth, Silvio Bankert played for his home club FSV Luckenwalde . With the U19 of Energie Cottbus, he made it to the Junior Bundesliga as captain. In the following years Silvio was an integral part of the U23 team and rose with this in 2007 to the regional league (then 3rd league). In the 2007/08 season he was part of the professional squad and was captain of the U23 team. In 2008 he moved to 1. FC Magdeburg where Bankert was part of the permanent staff. Here he completed 54 regional league games and won the State Cup Saxony-Anhalt in 2009. In 2010 he moved to Chemnitzer FC with whom he immediately became champions of the Regionalliga Nord in 2010/11 and rose to the third division. There in the 2011/12 season with a ninth place the relegation was safely managed and the national cup won. In the following season the Himmelblauen 6 of the 3rd league and Bankert was one of the regular staff of coach Gerd Schädlich. In the 2013/14 season, Bankert was the captain of Chemnitzer FC and played 37 games, which meant the state cup and 12th place in the table at the end of the season.

For the 2014/15 season , Bankert moved again to 1. FC Magdeburg and signed a three-year contract here. At the end of the season he was champion in the Regionalliga Nordost and national cup winner. In the subsequent relegation games against Kickers Offenbach , he was promoted to the 3rd division, in which Bankert was used.

Bankert ended his career after the 2015/16 season and fourth place in the third division.

After the active career

In 2016/2017 he made his first coaching experience and looked after the U19s of 1. FC Magdeburg, with whom he won the state cup. For the 2017/18 season, Bankert joined the pros at 1. FC Magdeburg as assistant coach. Under head coach Jens Härtel he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and won the state cup. He then remained an assistant coach at 1. FC Magdeburg under the head coaches Michael Oenning, Stefan Krämer and Claus-Dieter Wollitz.

Curiosity

As assistant coach at 1. FC Magdeburg, Bankert was the first to be punished with red for the introduction of cards against club officials. In the game on the first match day of the third division 2019/20 season against Eintracht Braunschweig , he kicked the match ball out of the coaching zone and hit the Brunswick Marcel Bär, who was lying on the ground .
