From 1934 to 1960 the monument stood on the corner of Marcusallee and Deliusweg in Horn-Lehe.

In 1988 the bronze bust was stored; the base was damaged and the bust was not secure. The bust, which was restored in 2009, was re-erected in 2012 in the lecture hall building of the University of Bremen with a new plinth made of Oberkirchen sandstone and an inscription.
