List of the monuments and statues of the city of Bremen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the monuments and statues of the city of Bremen contains the monuments , statues, statues, memorials and sculptures of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . Some of them have been removed, rearranged, remodeled or even destroyed from their original location over the decades. This is noted under the prefix Status .

Wells are expressly not listed. These are summarized in the list of fountains in the city of Bremen .

Listed buildings are listed in the lists of cultural monuments of the respective city and districts.

The list does not claim to be complete, but will be updated continuously. For a better overview, the individual works are arranged according to their date of installation, divided into century and year and possibly even more finely divided into month and day. If two monuments were erected at the same time (or in the same year), they are listed in alphabetical order.

If the date of the inauguration is unknown, the work is either added to the list below or inserted reasonably sensibly. (If, for example, the artist, the material, the location and the subject matter are identical to a work from a certain year, it can be assumed that the monument without a date also comes from around this time at this point in time.)

The most important work in terms of art history and city history is undoubtedly the Bremen Roland on the market square. One of the oldest preserved monuments in the city is - next to the Roland - the Vasmer Cross from the 1440s. The most famous sculpture, however, are the Bremen Town Musicians , which are among the most photographed tourist attractions in the city.
