Simon Archer

Simon David Archer , MBE , (born June 27, 1973 in Leamington Spa , according to other sources in Worcester ) is a badminton player from Great Britain .

At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he took part in the doubles competition with Chris Hunt . He was eliminated, however, as four years later at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney together with Nathan Robertson , in the quarter-finals. In Sydney he also took part in the mixed competition with Joanne Goode and won bronze. The two also won gold at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2002. In August 2006, Archer retired from professional sports.
