Simon Fowler (born May 25, 1965 in Birmingham ) is the British singer and guitarist of the Britpop band Ocean Color Scene .

Life

He went to Tudor Grange School in Solihull and later studied at Sixth Form College Solihull , where he wrote the song Foxy's Folk Faced . Fowler graduated from college and worked as a journalist for the Birmingham Post and Mail before making his breakthrough with Ocean Color Scene.

In 1993 Fowler released the album "Live on the Riverboat" with Oscar Harrison. Fowler has also appeared as a guest singer with various other artists. So he worked z. B. to of Paul Weller , the magazine from the album "Wildwood" with Q was performed at number 77 of the best British albums of all time. Fowler sang the song "It Won't Be Long" with Alison Moyet , which reached number 50 on the UK charts. He worked for Lightning Seeds on the album "Jollification", which reached number 12 in the UK charts.

In 1998 it became known that Fowler was gay. He lives in Warwickshire with his partner Robert .
