The telecommunications tower Waldenbuch is a 143.6 m high telecommunications tower owned by Deutsche Telekom AG in Schönbuch in the Esslingen district of Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ).
Geographical location
The telecommunications tower Waldenbuch is located on the Betzenberg ( 499.5 m above sea level ) in the district of Aichtal- Neuenhaus , which is around 4.5 km east in the Esslingen district. Directly past the tower and along the forest path Dettenhäuser Sträßle runs the border to the neighboring district of Böblingen , in which the town of Waldenbuch is located around 2 km north of the tower . The tower was built on the aforementioned forest path about 170 m northeast of the highest point on the mountain, which is on the same path. About 60 m north of the tower there is a survey point on this path at 497 m above sea level. NN .

The Waldenbuch telecommunications tower, built in reinforced concrete , is a type tower (FMT 2/72), which was built in 1969 according to plans by the architects Heinle , Hoyer and Teutschbein. It has four platforms at heights of 75, 84, 92 and 100 m; There is an operating room between the two lower platforms. The concrete shaft height is 102.55 m, with a shaft diameter of 8 m below and 5 m above.
Between 1998 and 2006, the Eurosignal transmitter and all major radio links, as well as the cable headend and the television converters, were shut down. Since then, the tower has only been used for mobile and BOS radio .
