Simon Herold (born June 2, 1987 in Siegen ) is a German handball goalkeeper .

Career

Herold began his career at the age of ten with the Thuringian SV Haineck- Nazza . A year later he moved to the D-youth of the second division ThSV Eisenach . The native of Siegerland visited the local handball boarding school there. Among other things, he was Southwest German champion in the C-youth and reached third place in the German championship of the B-youth. He skipped the A-youth and was 17 years old in the goal of the Eisenach men's team in the second Bundesliga south in 2004/05 . In the second half of the 2005/06 season he moved to SG Flensburg-Handewitt , where he initially played mainly in the regional league team, but was also nominated as the third goalkeeper of the first team. In total, he played five games for SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the Bundesliga , EHF Champions League and DHB Cup .

In the 2007/2008 season he played as part of a loan deal at Stralsund HV in the 2nd handball Bundesliga North . In 2008 he moved to MT Melsungen . From January 2010 Herold played with double play at HC Empor Rostock ; from the summer of 2010 he was only in the squad of HC Empor. For the 2011/12 season, Herold moved to the third division HF Springe , where he played one season in the third division . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he moved to Oranienburger HC . Herold ended his career after the 2019/20 season.
