Simon Krivec

Simon Krivec (born August 16, 1987 in Geldern ) is a former German athlete , sports official, pharmacist and doping expert. He is president of the second division handball team HSG Krefeld Niederrhein .

Life

Krivec is the son of the former German triple jumper, pharmacist and sports patron Günter Krivec . He attended the Adolfinum grammar school in Moers . From 2007 to 2012 Krivec studied pharmacy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with u. a. Theodor Dingermann , Michael Karas and Manfred Schubert-Zsilavecz . From 2012 to 2016 he did his doctorate in chemistry at the University of Hamburg.

His doctoral thesis on the use of anabolic-androgenic steroids in the Federal Republic of Germany from 1960 to 1988 with special consideration of athletics , in which 31 top male athletes in the Federal Republic of Germany admitted the abuse of anabolic steroids, sparked a nationwide debate on how to deal with it in March 2017 with doping in the Federal Republic of Germany . Krivec's study on the use of doping in West German athletics is the most detailed scientifically proven work in this area.

Krivec has been working as a pharmacist and entrepreneur in the Lower Rhine region since 2013. The focus of the family business is on the health market, in particular in the operation of pharmacies and investments in real estate for the health industry.

Krivec played hockey and volleyball in his youth. In May 2010 he made his debut in the 1st Bundesliga for the former European Cup winner and German champion Moerser SC . Krivec is involved in a variety of voluntary activities:

  • Chairman of the board of the HSG Krefeld Niederrhein eV, 2nd Bundesliga handball (since 2020), partner of the HSG Spielbetriebs- und Marketing GmbH (since 2017)
  • Board member of Moerser Sportclub 1985 ev (1st Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga volleyball) (since 2005)
  • Curator of the German Sports Aid Foundation (since 2019)
