Siegenhofermühle in the valley of the White Laber

The Siegenhofermühle is part of Deining in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

location

The wasteland is located in the Upper Palatinate Jura at about 470 meters above sea level in the valley of the White Laber east of Siegenhofen and just under two kilometers north of Deining on a communal road between the state road 2660 and Siegenhofen. Another communal road leads in the valley of the White Laber from the mill north to Arzthofen .

history

The Siegenhofermühle, which first appeared in writing in 1355 as a mill in “Sygenhofen”, was entered in the tax books under the four entire farms of Siegenhofen. In the 17th century, the Wermüller family sat on the mill for generations. The current owner family followed the Müller Sandmüller in 1801. By the end of the Old Kingdom , the mill belonged to the Lower Hofmark Berngau and was under high court the electoral office of mayor Neumarkt.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806) a tax district Unterbuchfeld was formed in the district court of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate , to which Siegenhofen and the Siegenhofermühle were also assigned. With the community edict of 1818, the community of the same name was formed, to which Siegenhofen and Siegenhofermühle belonged. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978 the community of Unterbuchfeld and with it Siegenhofermühle on May 1, 1978 were incorporated into the Deining community.

As usual, the miller also ran agriculture; In 1871, in addition to three horses, the mill owned six head of cattle. The overshot mill wheel was made of iron with a shaft made of oak. In 1963 the milling operation was stopped; Recently, 15 to 18 quintals of flour was produced all day long instead of the earlier millstones with rollers. In 2003 the mill building was demolished.
