In the board meeting of the Ostbahn on April 20, 1869, the decision was made to build the route from Regensburg via Etterzhausen - Sengenthal - Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz - Postbauer to Nuremberg . Compared to the old route Regensburg - Nuremberg via Amberg and Schwandorf, this was a shortcut of 35 kilometers.

By building a stop for Deining, the station building and the station restaurant as well as a station keeper's house were built. In 1872 they formed the beginning of the place, which politically belonged to Leutenbach , the responsible parish, school and post office were in Deining. The census on December 1, 1875 showed 31 inhabitants.

Most of the houses in the current settlement were built after the Second World War , around 1948. Over the years, the settlement became a village with over 140 residents.

In the course of the regional reform, Deining-Bahnhof became part of the municipality of Deining on May 1, 1978.

A specialty of the place was the station church fair, the so-called "Jakobskerwa". Jakob Schöll, the trainer at the time, held this “Hochwaldkirchweih” with a dance on the open-air floor on his name day. In 2000 a chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built by a chapel building association and inaugurated on July 15, 2001 by Provost Johann Limbacher from Eichstätt. Since then, the "Kerwa" has always taken place on the second Sunday after Easter.
