Graßahof is part of Deining in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

geography

The wasteland lies in the Upper Palatinate Jura at about 565 m above sea level north-west of the municipal seat on a protrusion of the Alb plateau, which here breaks off steeply against the foreland in the west.

history

The name of the district is said to be derived from the Groß von Altenburg, who sat in Deining before they settled in Nuremberg. Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , around 1800, the court belonged to the Lower Hofmark Deining; The Götz family sat on it. The court was subject to the electoral mayor's office in Neumarkt.

In the 19th, sometimes still in the 20th century, the wasteland was alternately called “Großahof” and “Grashof”.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806) Graßahof was assigned to the Oberbuchfeld tax district . When the community was formed around 1810/20, the wasteland became part of the Leutenbach community, where it remained until it was incorporated into Deining on May 1, 1978.
