Sippelmühle

The Sippelmühle is a part of the municipality of Deining in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

location

The mill is located in the Upper Palatinate Jura in the valley of the Weißen Laber south of the municipality.

history

In 1424, the mill "under the Sternberg" is mentioned in a letter of purchase from the Kastl monastery . It was called Sengersmühle and in 1460 it was owned by Ulrich Sippel.

1554 the Palatinate led the parish Walter mountain to the mill belonged to the Reformation one, 1627 took place the Counter-Reformation .

In 1522 Count Palatine Otto from the Bergen Monastery exchanged goods at Waltersberg and set up a caste office for these goods in Waltersberg ; According to a basic description of October 21, 1744, this caste office also included the Sippelmühle, on which Müller Goetz was sitting at the time. The lower jurisdiction lay with the Kurpfalz-Baierischen nursing authority Holnstein , the blood jurisdiction exercised the mayor of Neumarkt.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806), a Großalfalterbach tax district was formed in the Neumarkt district court in Upper Palatinate , to which the Sippelmühle was also assigned. With the formation of the community around 1818/20, the community Waltersberg was formed, consisting of the parish village Waltersberg, the baker's mill , the district mill , the Labermühle , the Sippelmühle and the hamlet of Sternberg above the mill; around 1870 the gatekeeper house No. 44 was added. All places were subject to the patrimonial Holnstein until 1848. The community came on October 9, 1827 from the Neumarkt Regional Court to the Beilngries Regional Court and Rent Office. In 1836 the repertory of the atlas sheet Neumarkt states that the mill has two grinding stages and one cutting stage. As usual, the miller also ran agriculture; in 1875 the mill owned four horses and 15 head of cattle.

When the district of Beilngries was abolished as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Waltersberg was dissolved, and the Sippelmühle was incorporated into Deining in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate on May 1, 1978.

In the former mill property (the three mill wheels were removed before 1950, the sawmill was given up in 1965 and the grinding operation in 1970), a country inn and a natural terrace campsite with a natural swimming pond fed by a spring (only for camping guests) are operated.
