history

The syndicate was founded in 2013 in the season west of the 3rd division playing clubs DJK SV Adler Königshof 1919 and SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen . The aim of the cooperation was to play permanently in the upper table area of ​​the third division. The right to play until the end of the 2019/20 season was with SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen.

HSG Krefeld was the only one of the clubs in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga to not receive a license to play in the 2020/21 season. The second division had not submitted the license application to the licensing commission within the deadline of March 1, 2020.

On May 19, 2020, the club announced that SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen would leave the syndicate. From the 2020/21 season, the team will compete under the name HSG Krefeld Niederrhein and play as the second venue in the Enni-Sportpark Rheinkamp in Moers . The aim of the realignment is to strengthen handball and the brand in the region.
