The MSG Groß-Bieberau / Modau is a handball community and was founded in 2013 by the Hessian clubs TSG Groß-Bieberau and TSV Modau . It was consciously important that both clubs find themselves in the MSG. This can be seen, among other things, in the choice of colors for the logo, which is yellow / red.
The home games of the first (3rd League East) and third (District League C2 Odenwald-Spessart) team are played in the large sports hall in Wesner. The hall has a capacity of 1,200 spectators. The second team (regional league Odenwald-Spessart) plays in the ball sports hall Ober-Ramstadt.
The first men's team of MSG rose in 2003 as TSG Groß-Bieberau in the 2nd handball Bundesliga, in which they played until 2006. Due to the relegation, the team played in the Regionalliga Süd-West and narrowly missed direct re-promotion. In the end, the SG Wallau / Massenheim made it and the Groß-Bieberauer had to wait another year before they were promoted to the 2nd handball league and were able to prevail against the HG Saarlouis . With coach Thomas Göttmann, TSG rose again in 2008. Due to the introduction of the single-track 2nd handball Bundesliga, the club did not apply for a license and played in the 3rd League South in the 2011/12 season and in the 3rd League East since the 2013/14 season. In the first season as MSG Gross Bieberau, MSG was able to occupy eighth place in the table.
