The HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden (full name: handball community Rodgau Nieder-Roden ) is a game community from Nieder-Roden in Hesse .

The handball community was founded on July 1, 2006 from the handball departments of the Sportgemeinschaft Nieder-Roden 1945 eV and the Turngemeinde 1905 Nieder-Roden eV . The HSG has been playing under the name 'HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden' since July 1, 2013.

The first men's team secured qualification for the newly created 3rd league by winning the Hesse Championship (1st place in the Hesse handball league) in 2010 , in which they competed in the East Season in the 2010/2011 season. After relegation from the 3rd League East to the Oberliga Hessen, the team was able to rise again immediately in the following year. The 2012/13 season then played the HSG in the 3rd League South and finished 7th. After the DHB made the new division for the four seasons of the 3rd division, the team has been back in the east since the 2013/14 season. Jan Redmann has been a new coach on the bench since the 2017/18 season. The HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden has been competing in the middle season since the 2019/20 season.

The women's team will also appear in the third division for the first time in the 2019-20 season.

The team's nickname is Baggerseepiraten , as there is a very popular and widely known bathing lake in the Rodgau district of Nieder-Roden, which the music band Rodgau Monotones has already sung about .
