Günter Krivec

Günter Krivec (born July 28, 1942 in Moers ) is a former German triple jumper , pharmacist , entrepreneur and sports patron. Since the club was founded in 1985, Krivec has been president of the volleyball Bundesliga club Moerser SC .

Sports career

After Krivec had primarily played football in his youth, he switched to athletics on the advice of a former sports teacher. At the German championship in 1964 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, Krivec was German runner-up in the triple jump. Three weeks later, Krivec won the elimination competitions for participation in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo with the European annual best of 16.29 m. At the Olympic Games in 1964, Krivec was injured in the preliminary fight and missed the final fight with a width of 15.78 m by 2 cm. Following the Olympic Games, Krivec moved from Moerser TV to USC Mainz .

At the German championships in 1965 in Duisburg, Krivec reached third place. In 1966 at the German championships in Hanover, Krivec was first German champion in triple jump and started at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1966 . In 1967 and 1968 he was German runner- up behind his Mainz club colleague Michael Sauer . In 1967 Krivec started at the Universiade in Tokyo. In 1968 Krivec qualified for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. He did without a second Olympic start in Mexico in order to achieve his degree in pharmacy.

Günter Krivec started in the indoor season as well as the open-air fights. His achievements at the German championships there were: 1965: 3rd place, 1966: 2nd place, 1968: 3rd place, 1969: 2nd place, 1970: 3rd place.

Krivec started in the heyday of the German triple jump, in which numerous German athletes belonged to the extended world elite. In addition to Krivec, these were u. a. Michael Sauer , Harald Strutz , former president of 1. FSV Mainz 05 , and the GDR athlete Hans-Jürgen Rückborn .

Functionary career

Günter Krivec founded the Moerser Sportclub in 1985 with the departments volleyball and athletics. The departments basketball (dissolved), handball and hockey (dissolved) followed and has served as president ever since. At the same time, Krivec is the association's patron and accounts for a large part of the budget.

In 1990 the men of Moerser SC became the first German team to win the CEV European Cup . In 1991 and 1993 Moerser SC won the German Cup and in 1992 German champions . Moers became one of the world's most famous volleyball clubs under the auspices of Krivec in the 1990s. Thanks to his great negotiating skills, Krivec repeatedly managed to sign international stars for the MSC, despite modest financial means. Among them the Olympic champions Jonas Reckermann , Peter Blange , Guido Görtzen and Rob Grabert .

According to Tagesspiegel, Krivec is one of the outstanding German entrepreneurs and sports patrons who have privately supported German sport for decades, alongside Dietmar Hopp , Michael Kölmel , Frank Müller and Madeleine Winter-Schulze .

Life

Günter Krivec comes from a working-class family and attended the Franz-Haniel-Gymnasium in Duisburg-Homberg . Krive studied pharmacy from 1964 to 1968 at the University of Mainz .

Krivec now lives with his family in his hometown Moers, where he works as a pharmacist, entrepreneur and investor. One of his sons is the pharmacist and doping expert Simon Krivec .

In addition to numerous sporting honors, Günter Krivec also received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
