Simon Seidl (* 1988 in Ingolstadt ) is a German jazz musician (piano).

Live and act

Seidl first had classical piano lessons. From 2003 jazz piano lessons with Robert Aichner and Stefan Schmid followed. He was a member of the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Harald Rüschenbaum . Since 2007 he has been a young student at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich with Tizian Jost . From autumn 2008 to spring 2013 he studied at the Cologne University of Music with Hubert Nuss . He belongs to the groups of Hendrika Entzian , Jakob Kühnemann and Maxime Bender and in 2011 founded his own trio with Robert Landfermann and Fabian Arends . He is also a member of the Truman Doctrin group around trombonist Janning Trumann ( Impuls , 2014). He can also be heard on albums by Anne-Christine Heinrich , Maxime Bender ( Path of Decision ) and Christoph Möckel ( Dreamlike ).

With the band Blindflug he was a 2004 prize winner at the Bavarian youth jazz competition . He also received the “Special Jazz Prize” and prizes in the classical area of ​​the Lions Club Ingolstadt. In 2007 he won the soloist prize at the national youth jazz competition . In the same year he received the Ingolstadt jazz promotion award.
