Simon Willson

Simon Willson (* approx. 1995 in Chile ) is a Chilean modern jazz musician ( double bass ) who works in the United States .

Live and act

After taking a preparatory course at the Escuela Moderna de Music in Santiago de Chile , Wilsson decided to continue his music studies in the USA and completed a bachelor's degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston in 2015 . Since moving to New York City in August 2017, he has worked and toured with various artists in Europe, the United States and South America. He has worked as a sideman with a number of relevant jazz musicians including Ethan Iverson , Steve Cardenas , Steve Cardenas , Steve Cardenas , Jim Black , Jason Palmer , George Garzone , Frank Carlberg and Noah Preminger . In addition to his work as a backing musician, he is co-director of the bands Great on Paper, Family Plan and Earprint . With the latter, he won the NPR Music Jazz Critics Poll in 2016 in the “Best Debut Album” category . First recordings were made with Anthony Coleman , as well as with Great On Paper and Eraprint .
