Rodney Green (musician)

Rodney Green (born March 17, 1979 in Camden ) is an American jazz musician (drums).

Green spent most of his time in church as a child, where his father served as a clergyman and organist. There he taught himself to play the drums by himself . In 1995 he toured Italy with Bobby Watson . When he was 17, still in high school, he performed regularly in New York . After graduation, he moved to New York, where he played with Greg Osby , Christian McBride , Eric Reed , Joe Henderson , Benny Green , Tom Harrell and Mulgrew Miller . At the age of 19, Green became a member of Diana Krall's trio for two years. Subsequently he also worked with Charlie Haden ( Sophisticated Ladies ), Terell Stafford / Dick Oatts ( Bridging the Gap ), Wycliffe Gordon , Walter Blanding , Betty Carter , Abbey Lincoln , Dianne Reeves , Wynton Marsalis , Aaron Diehl and Benny Green. To his quartet, with which he the album Live at Smalls presented include Seamus Blake , Luis Perdomo and Joe Sanders . Tom Lord had 72 recordings with Green between 1997 and 2015.
