Sindrome was an American death and thrash metal band from Highland Park , Illinois that was formed in 1986 and split up in 1993.

history

The band was formed in 1986. The following year a first demo appeared under the name Into the Halls of Extermination . The demo allowed the band to support Whiplash and Death . Shortly afterwards, Mick Vega and Rob Welsh joined the line-up as new guitarists. In 1991 a second demo called Vault of Inner Conscience followed. This was produced by Tom Morris in the studio of Morrisound Recording . As a result of the recording, it was decided to remaster the first demo for a new edition in the same studio. In addition, a promo tape was created with the song Astral Projection , which was distributed with an edition of 500. Shortly after the recordings for the second demo, Rob Welsh left the band. In 1993 the group was dissolved. On March 4, 2016, Century Media released the compilation Resurrection - The Complete Collection , which consists of the two demos in a remastered form. The publication was created in close collaboration with singer Troy Dixler. As a bonus, the previously unreleased song Brought to the End , which was created during the recording of Into the Halls of Extermination , is included. Another bonus is a bootleg recording made in Chicago in 1988 when Sindrome supported Death on their Scream Bloody Gore album tour . During the performance, the two songs Surround the Prisoner and Psychic Warfare were played, which were never recorded in a studio.

style

Walter Scheurer from Powermetal.de wrote in his review of the compilation that the band moved in the gray area between aggressive Thrash Metal and Death Metal. Thomas Meyer from voicesfromthedarkside.de assigned the band to Thrash Metal in his review of the compilation. The first demo offers classic Thrash Metal, the second seems a bit more technical and modern. Pete Pardo of seaoftranquility.org found the compilation to be suitable for fans of early thrash and death metal and to fill the gap between these two genres. The vocals are rough, but not growling . The song Extra Sensory Warning (ESW) combines elements from Exodus , Anthrax and Overkill , while Astral Projection is reminiscent of Slayer .
