Sino-German Ecopark

The Sino-German Ecopark (Chinese 中德 生态 园 , Pinyin: Zhōng dé shēngtài yuán), also known as the German-Chinese Ecopark , is a politically flanked, ecological business park in the city of Qingdao on the east coast of Shandong Province in the People's Republic of China .

Goal setting

The Sino-German Ecopark is to serve as a demonstration zone with a worldwide model function. It should act as a magnet for international companies in the high-end industry and promote international cooperation for ecological and sustainable development. The focus of the project is the integration of environmentally conscious technologies and standards in the areas of environmental and energy technology , automotive and supplier industry , automation , bio and pharmaceutical industry as well as improved standards in the field of services.

11.6 km² are available for this commercial area and are made accessible with roads with a total length of around 60 km.

Projects under construction

The following projects are currently being developed:

German business center

The German Corporate Center is a service center for German companies. This center is the largest DGNB- certified project in Asia, and the first mixed-use project in China to be awarded the DGNB platinum certificate .

Passive house demonstration project

In cooperation with the architects Rongen , Tribus and Vallentin as well as the Passive House Institute , a passive house is being built in the Ökopark , which will serve as a demonstration project for passive house technology.

Fraunhofer city of the future

The project is being developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research e. V. and after completion will accommodate office, corporate and residential space in the SoHo style.

Innovation and business start-up project

The project is intended to offer young Chinese and German academics a tailor-made service when setting up their own business and thus make the settlement in the eco park more attractive for new, innovative companies.

Ecological residential area

In addition to the settlement of companies, an ecologically built residential area is also to be built by 2015, in which at least 2,654 families and 7,685 residents will live. It is built according to the Chinese two-star standard of green building .

Ecological primary school

The primary school is intended to be a prime example of the use of ecological building technology in schools across China. 36 school classes are to be accommodated in the school and learn German in addition to the subjects that are common in China.

The German Siempelkamp Group was the first German company to start producing in the Sino-German Ecopark.

The business park is located on the Heluobu reservoir in the Huangdao economic zone and currently covers an area of ​​around 11.6 km².

background

On July 16, 2010, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding regarding joint support for the establishment of a German-Chinese eco-park. On December 6, 2011, the foundation stone of the Sino-German Ecopark was laid in the Qingdao business and technology development zone.
