Sintech is a German metal band from Coburg . The music style can best be assigned to Dark Metal ; the band itself describes it as Sinthetic Death Metal .

history

2000–2003 band founded and first demo

Sintech was founded in May 2000 under the name "Black Widow" by Timo "Sproc" S., Michael "Mike" K., Christian "Chris" L. and Johannes Johannes "Sir J." K. as Symphnic Black Metal / Gothic metal band founded. The first two years were marked by various changes of singer, until "Sproc" took over the vocals in addition to playing the bass in autumn 2002. With this line-up, the first demo, At the Gates of the Apocalyptic Mysteria , was recorded in September 2003 and released shortly afterwards. The first major performance took place after several local concerts at the end of 2003 at the Demons From Hell festival together with Suidakra , disbelief and Final Breath .

2004–2008 debut album, second studio album and dissolution

Having become aware of the demo, Patrick “Zasch” Z., a second guitarist, joined Sintech in 2004. In the course of the now complete line-up, the band renamed themselves "Sintech" and shortly afterwards recorded the promo CD Sintech Promo CD , which served as advertising for the debut album Silence , which was released in September 2005 . After the release of Silence , "Sir J." decided to leave the band in February 2006 for personal and professional reasons and was replaced shortly afterwards by Sebastian "Becks" B. as the new drummer.

In October 2006 the band first appeared at the Way of Darkness Festival. The second studio album, Sick Perverted Sins , was released on December 8th of the same year. In the spring of 2007, the front man "Sproc" decided to concentrate only on the vocals from now on, which is why the band started looking for a new live bass player. In the late summer of 2007, keyboard player “Chris” left Sintech for personal reasons. Shortly afterwards, in October 2007, the band became a quintet again with the entry of "Horg" as bassist. "Chris" was not replaced, instead Schwämmlein took over the programming . Nevertheless, in the period that followed, the band's activities, in particular due to the entry of "Sproc" and "Zasch" to Varg , almost completely came to a standstill.

2010–2012 record deal and national breakthrough

On the occasion of the band's tenth anniversary, the musicians got together again and signed a record deal with the German label Blacksmith Records in February 2010 . In May of the same year an anniversary concert was also held. The current album, Schlampenfeuer , was recorded at the label's Blacksmith Studios and released on December 2, 2011. Thomas Gurrath from Debauchery and the Berlin Chor Stimmgewalt supported the band as guest vocalists . The band opened the Paganfest in Geiselwind on March 31, 2012 as their first major gig after the inactive phase . In the festival season 2012 the band toured together with Eisregen on their Rostrot tour and performed at the In Flammen Festival , the Wolfszeit Metal Open Air and the Fimbul Festival .

style

Sintech started out as a symphonic black metal band. The music of the early days is compared. a. with Dimmu Borgir . Already on the debut album, these elements take a back seat and the compositions are more influenced by Death Metal , Gothic and Industrial Metal . The second album, Sick Perverted Sins, is characterized by death and black metal compositions; the industrial influences gave way to elements of the ambience . The lyrical concept also changed from fiction to more emotional, more personal lyrics.

The current studio album, Schlampenfeuer , is assigned to dark metal in many reviews , or to the related varieties of death and black metal . The provocative and sometimes striking lyrics of the album are occasionally criticized. Apart from the texts, the webzine Powermetal.de described Schlampenfeuer as "[...] definitely beyond any doubt".
