From 2008 to 2015, the Heidenfest with a thematically similar focus was also organized by Rock the Nation.

criticism

During the Pagan Festival 2007, the two Berlin organizations against fascism BIFFF and apabiz mobilized against a planned concert in the Kreuzberg club SO36 . They accused the bands of right-wing extremism and labeled the band members as Nazis . They justified this among other things with the use of runes in band logos as well as the representation of violence in some song texts. In a later press release, apabiz distanced itself from these allegations.

The accused bands then published counter statements; Heri Joensen from Týr and Ville Sorvali from Moonsorrow , for example, put a video on the Internet in which they made it clear that they were neither Nazis nor have any contacts in the right-wing scene and that their texts were based on stories and legends of Nordic mythology .

Paganfest as a brand

The Paganfest operated an online shop until 2011, where merchandising items related to the Paganfest were sold.
