Sjarhej Bachar ( Belarusian Сяргей Бахар , international after English translation Siarhei Bakhar ; born  June 27, 1989 ) is a Belarusian shot putter .

Career

Sjarhej Bachar took part in a major international competition for the first time in 2005 at the European Summer Youth Olympic Festival in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, which he finished in second place with 18.45 m (5 kg ball).

In 2008 Bachar took part in the Junior World Championships in Athletics in Bydgoszcz , Poland, where 18.69 m (6 kg ball) were only enough for eleventh place.

A year later, Bachar positioned himself in ninth place with 17.50 m at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania .

In 2010 Bachar finished second at the Winter Throwing European Cup in Arles , France, with 17.65 m. He also won two Belarusian championship titles in the same year - one in Mahiljou (19.21 m, indoor) and one in Hrodna (18.30 m, open air).

At the Winter Throwing European Cup 2011 in the Bulgarian capital Sofia Bachar won with 18.29 m just ahead of the Ukrainian Dmytro Sawyzkyj (18.27 m), before he won the U23 European Athletics Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic around four months later with 18.29 m took eighth place. Shortly afterwards, Bachar competed again at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen , PR China , but was eliminated from the qualification without having reached the competition standard.
