Sjarhej Novikau , ( Russian Сергей Новиков / Sergei Nowikow, * 1989 ) is a Belarusian boxer .

Career

Sjarhej Nowikau came to the semi-finals at the 2013 European Championships in Minsk against Hrvoje Sep , where he was eliminated without a fight with a bronze medal against Nikita Ivanov . He was thus qualified for the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , where he lost to Sumit Sangwan in the round of 16.

In 2014 he won the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament in Russia , defeating Elshod Rasulov , among others . In 2015 he started at the European Games 2015 in Baku , where he was eliminated in the preliminary round.

In 2016 he won the Gee-Bee Tournament in Finland and took part in the European Olympic qualification in Samsun , where he lost to Joshua Buatsi .

In 2017 he won the Viktor Usov Memorial Tournament in Belarus and competed for the China Dragons in the World Series of Boxing .

Sjarhej Nowikau is also Belarusian light heavyweight champion in 2014 and 2015, and Belarusian heavyweight champion in 2016.

In addition to his active career, he is a boxing trainer and fitness coach.
