Skin (or SKIN ) is a Japanese supergroup that was founded between 2006 and 2007 by Yoshiki Hayashi and Gackt in Los Angeles , California . A little later, Sugizo and Miyavi were introduced as additional members. Since their first and so far only concert in June 2007 there have been no further publications or announcements regarding the future of the group.
Band history
In August 2006, Yoshiki (founding member, was a drummer and pianist of X Japan ) on the Otakon 2006 Anime - Convention in the United States announced that he think about it together with Gackt (former singer of Malice Mizer to form a band). In December of the same year it was confirmed that Sugizo ( guitarist for Luna Sea ) could join the group as a possible third member. On May 25, 2007 the formation of the band was finally announced at the J-Rock Revolution Festival in Los Angeles . In addition to the three previously announced members, Miyavi (former member of Due'le quartz ) was also introduced as guitarist. Yoshiki confirmed that the group plans to release an album and the first recordings for it took place in March 2007.
On June 29, 2007, Skin gave their first and so far only concert at the Anime Expo in Long Beach , California. Due to the lack of a permanent bass player , they were supported during the performance by Ju-Ken, who previously worked as a musician for GacktJOB .
