The Slippery Rock Creek within the Beaver River basin

The Slippery Rock Creek is a 48 km long river in the western US state of Pennsylvania .

The outflow is via the Connoquenessing Creek , Beaver River , Ohio River and Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico . The Slippery Rock Creek is part of the river system of the Ohio River and drains an area of 1062 square kilometers. The river has its source in the village of Hilliards and flows in a south-westerly direction through northern Butler County , passes McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County and flows into Connoquenessing Creek at the village of Ellwood City.

The Slippery Rock Creek is very popular with canoeists from the area. With rapids of white water difficulty II and III, it offers attractive race courses for water sports enthusiasts.
