Sloboda ( Ukrainian and Russian Слобода ) is a village in the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 3000 inhabitants (2001).
The village, founded in the 17th century, is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in the west of Buryn Rajon , which also includes the settlements of Leontiyivka ( Леонтіївка , ⊙ ) with about 90 inhabitants and Sorochynske ( Сорочинське , ⊙ ) with about 70 inhabitants.
The village is located on the banks of the Jesutsch ( Єзуч ), a 57 km long left tributary of the Seim , 15 km west of the Buryn district center and about 100 km northwest of the Sumy oblast center . Sloboda has a train station on the railway line between Konotop and Bilopillja . Territorial road T-19-10 runs through the village .
