Sly & Robbie
Sly & Robbie is a Jamaican musician - and producer - duo consisting of the drummer Sly Dunbar and the bassist and keyboardist Robert Shakespeare , who is particularly known for his reggae and dub productions and largely the reggae rhythms of the 1970s and 1980s coined.
biography
Sly & Robbie formed the rhythm section of the Jamaican reggae band Black Uhuru for years . They also worked on albums by Peter Tosh , Gregory Isaacs , Culture and many other reggae artists. They also became known under the name The Riddim Twins .
In 1978 they founded their own reggae label Taxi , where they and numerous other artists recorded and produced together with the Taxi Gang .
After they had won the first ever reggae Grammy for Anthem in 1985 with Black Uhuru , they won another Grammy in 1999 as a duo with the album Friends in the category Best Reggae Album .
