Smartwings is a Czech low-cost airline based in Prague and a subsidiary of Travel Service .
history
Smartwings was founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of the Czech Travel Service . In 2004/05, two Boeing 737-500 planes were leased from Deutsche Lufthansa . On March 11, 2012, the last Boeing 737-500 from SmartWings was replaced by a Boeing 737-700 .
Between January and November 2018, the company was one of the most important service providers for the implementation of deportation flights in the Federal Republic of Germany. 45 of 157 deportation flights within this period were taken over by SmartWings.
The parent company Travel Service was integrated into the SmartWings Group in December 2018 and all associated airlines were renamed accordingly.
Destinations
Smartwings mainly offers flights from Prague and other Czech airports to cities and holiday destinations around the Mediterranean , for example to Barcelona , Rhodes and Tel Aviv . The company's longest flight is to Dubai .
