The Smith Creek is a few kilometers long left tributary to the Cumberland River in the western center of Livingston County in Kentucky in the United States .
It rises on the eastern flank of Vick Hill at a height of around 123 m above sea level and initially flows south. After about a third of its entire run, it receives an unnamed stream from the left . At this junction, Smith Creek bends west, winds around the southern foothills of the Vick Hills and passes Frozen Knob on its north side. Immediately afterwards it turns south again and then meanders towards its confluence with the Cumberland River west of the Hampton Hills . It is thus the third last tributary of the Cumberland River before its confluence with the Ohio River .
The catchment area of the Smith Creek consists mainly of forest and meadows and is only very sparsely populated. It roughly covers the area between Vick Hill, Haw Hill, Dunlap Hill, Bald Knob and Frozen Knob.
