Sobolów is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Łapanów in the Powiat Bocheński of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
The place lies on the right bank of the Stradomka in Pogórze Wiśnickie . The neighboring towns are Buczyna in the north, Nieprześnia, Zawada and Wola Nieszkowska in the east, Cichawka in the south, and Chrostowa and Kamyk in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1262. A parish was mentioned in 1325/1326. In the 14th century it belonged to the Brun family of the Strzemię coat of arms, who transferred the village from Polish to German law in 1330 . In 1404 a castrum in Sobolów was mentioned once . The remains of the castle are on the Koci zamek hill .
Politically, the place was initially part of the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Szczyrzyc District.
In 1569 the local church became the seat of a Helvetic parish. At the end of his life the priest Reszka changed the denomination to Arian , i. H. of the Polish Brothers . In 1597 the newly built wooden church was again owned by the Roman Catholics.
During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Sobolów became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). In the 19th century there were many craftsmen in the village who u. a. Manufactured ammunition for the Austrian army.
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Sobolów became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .
From 1975 to 1998 Sobolów was part of the Tarnów Voivodeship .
