The Sohrbach is a 6.4 km long right tributary of the Bobritzsch in the Saxon Ore Mountains .
On current maps, the stream rises in a wood just a few hundred meters southeast of the Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf district of Sohra from a small pond that is about 466 m above sea level. NN lies. In older maps and in literature, the source is placed about 1.2 km further south and the source height is 493 m above sea level. NN specified. Like almost all rivers in this area, it follows the slope of the Ore Mountains Pultscholle and passes Sohra first towards the NNW. Then it turns more and more to the west, feeds an outdoor pool with its water and finally flows into the Bobritzsch at Niederbobritzsch .
The shape of the valley is described as "almost strange for the Ore Mountains". Broad, waterlogged hollows, locally interspersed with small peat islands, alternate with flat peaks and short, narrow valleys. The cause is the underlying granite , whose different susceptibility to weathering determines the morphology here. Flat groundwater bodies ensure sufficient water flow even in dry periods. In 1931 the stream was regulated .
