Niederbobritzsch is a district of the municipality of Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf in the district of central Saxony . The municipality of Niederbobritzsch became a district of the municipality of Bobritzsch on March 1, 1994 , which merged with Hilbersdorf on January 1, 2012 to form the municipality of Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf.

Location and traffic

The village stretching on both sides of the Bobritzsch over a length of over six kilometers between Naundorf and Oberbobritzsch is about seven kilometers east of the district town of Freiberg . In the village, the Sohrbach flows into the Bobritzsch. The place has a stop on the Dresden-Chemnitz-Werdau railway line and is also connected to the public transport network.

history

The name of the place created as a forest hoof village is derived from the river on which it extends and means beaver stream (Old Sorbian Bobica). The place is first mentioned as Bobirtsch in 1280. Other place name forms are 1293 Boberiz , 1361 inferior Bobricz , 1438 Neydern Boberizsch and 1539 Niderbobritsch .

The Office village was in 1378 from castrum Freiberg, 1445 from caring Freiberg and from 1548 to 1856 by the Saxon and Royal Saxon Regional Authority Freiberg managed. Further sovereign administrative districts were then the Freiberg court office in 1856 and, after the judiciary and administration were separated, the Freiberg district administration in 1875 .

In addition to agriculture, mining and metallurgy were important sources of income for the inhabitants. Mainly to the west of the place on the "rear Rammelsberg" was silver, copper and tin mining. The Drei-Königs-Spat, which was built in the 16th century, was continued as Friedrich-Erbstolln around 1780. The mouth hole of the tunnel can still be seen in Schmiedegasse . The two houses Juchhöh No. 3 and No. 4 were once the house of prayer and hut house. The tunnel leads directly under house Juchhöh No. 4 at a depth of around 70 meters. A few 100 meters above there is an underground mountain lake about 40 meters deep.

The Bobritzsch was rich in trout and eel. Seven grinding mills, five oil mills and two cutting mills were once operated here. To the north of the village on the western Bobritzschhang there is a sloppy quarry in the Naundorf-Niederbobritzsch granite , which delivered gravel.

The Dresden-Chemnitz-Werdau railway line in connection with the 200 meter long viaduct over the Bobritzschtal was completed here in 1862. There is an open-air swimming pool fed by the Sohrbach near the stop north of the railway line .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the Niederbobritzsch community came to the Freiberg district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Freiberg from 1990 and was added to the central Saxony district in 2008.

On March 1, 1994, the municipalities of Oberbobritzsch merged with Sohra , Niederbobritzsch and Naundorf to form the municipality of Bobritzsch . On January 1, 2012, the municipalities of Bobritzsch and Hilbersdorf merged to form the municipality of Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf, making Niederbobritzsch a part of this new municipality.

Niederbobritzsch Church

The village church was built in 1513, attested by the inscription on a choir strut pillar . The tower of the single-nave church building dates back to 1853. The tower tour was added in 1932. The wooden altar and pulpit are from the 17th century.

In August Schumann's State Lexicon of Saxony (1820) the following is mentioned about the church:

[…] The local church is under the Freiberg inspection, and the Oberconsistorium in Dresden has the collature ; she was in the Thirty Years' War , with an Kaiserli. Incursion, together with the parish house, cremated in 1632 and in 1639, when another incursion occurred, the local school suffered the same fate. The last pastor after the Reformation was Simon Pretschendorfer from Großhartmannsdorf […] .

Due to the inscription on the choir strut pillar, the church was not completely destroyed, but could be renovated using the existing structure.

The memorial for the dead of the First World War at the entrance to the cemetery in front of the church stands out due to its sakophagus-like design.
