The Solingen Alligators , shortly Alligators are a baseball -Club of Solingen .

The "Softball and Baseball Club Solingen Alligators 1991 e. V. “was founded in 1991, with around 250 members it is one of the largest baseball clubs in Germany and one of the most successful baseball clubs in Germany. Except for the color, its logo is completely based on the logo of Arizona State University. In addition to two men's teams ( Bundesliga and Association League ), there is a junior team in the Association League , a youth team in the Association League , a student team in the Association League and a tee-ball team. Between 2008 and 2012 there was also a hobby softball team, the Outdaxx. The Alligators' baseball stadium, the Weyersberg baseball park , is located on Kotter Straße in Solingen.

The 1st men's alligators team has played in the 1st Bundesliga since 2003 . The greatest successes are the wins in the German baseball championship in 2006 and 2014 . In 2006 they achieved second place in the CEB Cup . In 2007, 2008 and 2009 the team was first in the Bundesliga North, in 2008 with only one defeat in 28 games this season. Solingen was the only team in the Bundesliga North to reach the semi-finals of the German championship in all three years and was eliminated there in 2007 against the Mainz Athletics , in 2008 against the Regensburg Legionnaires and in 2009 against the Heidenheim Heideköpfe , all opponents became German champions. In 2007 the Alligators were cup winners of the BSVNRW, in 2008 they lost to the Paderborn Untouchables in the final .

In 2008 the Alligators lost one of their best players with national team catcher Kai Gronauer during the season when he was signed by the New York Mets and moved to the New York Minor League organization. The national team pitcher André Hughes played in the Dutch Hoofdklasse for Honkbalclub Allen Weerbaar (HCAW) in the 2009 season , but from 2010 he will return to his home club. Also in 2010, the national team pitcher Nils Hartkopf returned to Solingen. But Hartkopf switched to Bundesliga competitor Haar Disciples after just one year . He returned to Solingen in 2014.

The regional league team of the Alligators became regional league champions in 2008 and 2009, but refrained from promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

The youth team became German champions for the first time in the club's history in 2014. The student team celebrated the German championship title in 2003 and 2011.

For the 2014 championship title, the Bundesliga team was allowed to sign in the city's golden book.

The club's own "Alligators-TV" has been broadcasting its home games live on its website since 2016.
