The German Baseball Bundesliga 2014 was the 31st season of the Baseball Bundesliga . The regular playing time started on April 4th with the match between the Buchbinder Legionnaires and the Haar Disciples and ended on July 12th. From July 19 to August 24, the German champions were determined in the play-offs and the relegated players in the play-downs. The season was so short that the 2014 European Baseball Championship was held from September 12-21. As in the previous year, the Buchbinder legionnaires started the season as defending champions of the German Championship . Since the Berlin Sluggers were relegated from the North Division of the 1st Bundesliga in 2013 and Hanover, as teams eligible for promotion, did not complete the planning of the license-compliant renovation of the home venue in time, this division played with 7 teams and the South division with 8 teams.
