The Berlin Sluggers are a German baseball club from Berlin . They are the oldest baseball club in Berlin. In 2010 the first Sluggers team secured the championship (19 wins, 5 losses) in the 2nd Bundesliga North. After a 15-year absence, the Berliners are back in the baseball Bundesliga .

history

The association was founded on October 1st, 1985 by some young people from Berlin. 4 years after it was founded, the first men's team rose to the second league baseball as the undefeated leader. At the end of the 1992 season they were champions of the 2nd division. In 1993 they played for the first time in the club's history in the baseball league . 1994 saw the Sluggers' greatest success to date with 2nd place in the top division in Germany. But due to the high financial burden, the 1st men's team had to be relegated to the Regionalliga Nordost. After they were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008, they were promoted to the top division in Germany again in 2010 when they reached 1st place. In 2013 the Sluggers only had to settle for 8th place and were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2nd Bundesliga North, the Sluggers reached 2nd place in the table in the 2015 season with 22 wins and 6 losses. In the current season the Sluggers occupy the 3rd place in the table in the 2nd Bundesliga North (17 wins, 11 defeats).
